Reward and Loyalty Points You Can Feel (Australia)

As our family arrived in Australia early this year, we wanted to quickly learn and apply for essential memberships that can lessen our household burden. Just like in Singapore, the important rewards usually revolve around groceries and fuel - the two most important ones.

Before starting, make sure you have the following prepared:

  • You have a local Australian phone number. Many membership registrations require validation via SMS.
  • You have switched your account location (Apple or Google) to Australia. Otherwise, many of the membership apps are not available unless your region has been updated.

Mind you, this is a very subjective opinion, as each family may have its own preferences when it comes to shops and services. We have signed up for more memberships than those listed below, but we have yet to discover their benefits in a meaningful way. Don't worry, I will update this list regularly.

Let's begin!

This membership offers a double advantage, allowing you to earn reward points both when shopping at Woolworths and when refueling at EG Ampol or Ampol stations.

Be sure to 'Boost' via the mobile app, as it regularly provides opportunities to earn bonus points on previously purchased items. While it may be a bit inconvenient to return to the app regularly, the effort is worthwhile.

Additionally, refuelling at EG Ampol (Not Ampol) stations enables you to save 4 cents per litre. Before you know it, you'll have $10 ready to redeem on your next purchase.

BP Rewards

If you're someone who cares about fuel quality, there's a hearsay that BP fuel is among the better options. With BP Rewards, you can swiftly accumulate points that translate into dollar savings. In a country where driving distances can be extensive, leveraging the rewards earned can significantly reduce your fuel expenses.

My Dan's Membership

Wines, need I say more? While My Dan's Membership may not allow you to accumulate points or dollars, it offers substantial discounts on your purchases. We're talking about savings of tens of percent on great number of wines and other alcoholic beverages.

Supercheap Auto

Given that a car is somewhat of a necessity in Australia, it's essential to care for it properly. Supercheap Auto offers everything you need to maintain your car at home (excluding regular servicing). The membership provides access to special prices on products and also allows you to earn club credits, which can be redeemed for your next shopping trip.

Anaconda Adventure Club

With the abundance of nature to explore, acquiring adventure gear may become a household necessity. From hiking boots to bodyboards, Anaconda has it all. Joining the Adventure Club grants you access to member-only discounts.

Cinebuzz Rewards

For movie lovers (like our family!), Cinebuzz by Event Cinemas offers the benefit of purchasing tickets at a discounted price during off-peak hours. Just look for those showtimes marked as "Saver," and you may be able to get tickets at half-price sometimes.
